Personal Leadership rule #3 - make time for fun!

I have three rules that I encourage my clients to follow. They're actually self-care reminders that they can apply on their coaching journey and in their everyday lives.


Here's the third and final rule: MAKE TIME FOR FUN!

Research has shown that engaging in fun or playful activities has benefits such as:

  1. Reduced stress because of lower cortisol levels (stress hormone).

  2. Increased motivation and pleasure because of higher dopamine levels (happy hormone/chemical).

  3. Improved innovation which helps us solve problems better.

  4. Improved ability to recall what we learn because we tend to learn better when we are in a relaxed and lighthearted mood.

  5. Higher productivity than when we are bored or disengaged.

Having fun periodically can actually help us achieve our goals. So make it a priority and schedule it into your calendar today!
